Sometimes the real world can be more unsettling than any fictional work. You may be surprised by the real-life stories in this collection.
What initially appear to be ordinary events soon turn into something much more eerie. These stories question everything we believe to be true, from perplexing encounters to eerie turns of events.
Story 1:ย I had a run of strange calls with the wrong number for a while. The call I received at around 11 p.m. stands out in my memory the most. I answered it while I was asleep, so I was unable to understand what was happening. Although it was loud, it sounded as though multiple people were making noise.
It sounded like a very melancholy barbershop quartet singing when I finally woke up enough to hear itโjust a long โooooooohโ going up and down the scale in a minor key, with no words. I hung up because it was so strange and depressing.
The portion of the song I heard is still in my memory. When I looked at it again, I noticed that the number was restricted and that it was strange. ยฉ Reddit/Unknown author
Second Story: I once lost two hours of my day. My dad was also there because he was dropping me off at college and I was getting ready for it.
The news froze while we were watching it. We spent two hours turning the TV on and off in an attempt to get it to function again.
Therefore, either something strange happened, or we both fell asleep without noticing. Personally, I believe that we entered a different dimension. ยฉ Reddit/FailingDegree91

Story 4:ย My 5-year-old stepson enjoys sharing stories with me about his past life, when he lived away from us and had a different name. Iโm always uneasy when he sporadically shares details about this previous life, especially when the names of the people or places are ones weโve never discussed or used around him.
In California, he told me, he lived in a city that had an A at the end and a T at the beginning (I looked it up; there are like two). He has expressed on multiple occasions that he misses taking his red sports car to the beach. Weโre from the East Coast, so weโve never taken him to a beach or traveled to California.
He has also mentioned returning home to discover his new kitten had gotten out of his apartment. He gave me her name, described her, and said that it still makes him sad sometimes. ยฉ Reddit/AnxiousOwlette
Narrative 5:
Iโm using my computer in my room. I launch Google and start typing. I have the text I want to type in my head, but I am unable to type the words for the life of me. It was incoherent all the time.
Despite my three attempts, I was unable to type what I knew I wanted to. Words wouldnโt even escape its lips. Iโm not sure why this occurred, but I felt better after going for a walk. ยฉ Reddit/ValorFiend

Story 7:ย This occurred a year ago. The light was on and I was sitting in my room. I made the decision to get up and turn it off because it was getting late. I stood up, took two steps, and then all of a sudden I was back on my bed, but without the light.
That switch was never reached by me. ยฉ Reddit/Unknown author
Story 8:ย While attending culinary school, I was 22 years old and getting ready for a baking class at 6:30 a.m. I had the clear idea that I should go to my closet and get my chefโs coat. In the next moment, it was neatly spread out on my bed. I canโt remember ever taking it out. I was frightened.
When I was 25, a few years later, I was working as a waiter. I had a carafe of iced tea and an empty glass in my hand. In the next moment, my coworker asked me if I was alright while I was holding a full glass that was already covered in condensation.
Those are the only memory lapses Iโve ever experienced, though they may have been seizure-related. When it occurs, it is extremely frightening. ยฉ Reddit/Psych_Nurse_18

Story 10:ย You could hear someone coming downstairs because my bedroom was in the basement of an old house with creaking stairs. I felt my bed dip down next to me as though someone were sitting on it while I was lying there with my back to the door. Too scared to speak, I turned around to see who it was, trembling as every hair on my body stood up.
Even though my bed was empty, I could still clearly see the dip. It seemed to rise as though the person there had stood up. When it did, I hurried from my room and up the stairs, feeling as though someone was right behind me the entire time.
I would really like to return to that building to see if it is still haunted or if our family was the only ones there. ยฉ Reddit/npcvillager
Story 11:ย I was living with my parents when this occurred. I spent a few months using the internet, usually staying up until about five or six in the morning.
In any case, I was staying up late when the locked back door suddenly flew open and a deep growl could be heard. The cats began congregating near the entrance.
There was always some strange activity going on at my parentsโ house. It is, I think, haunted. ยฉ Reddit/Unknown author
Narrative 12:

Story 13: I awoke at three in the morning to find twelve missed calls from my mother and a text message that read, โI was robbed! Hurry up! I hurried over to her place.
โI didnโt send you a text,โ Mom said when I got there. I held up my phone to her. She went inside as her color abruptly faded. She had her phone in her hand when she returned. She displayed an unsent text message to my phone number.
โI wrote this, but I never sent it,โ she said. I had a last-minute change of heart. The message said: โTake care, honey! Your town is in danger, according to what I just saw on the news. Numerous robberies have occurred close to your home.
I went cold. Who else would have sent the text if she hadnโt? And the missed callsโwho had been phoning me if it wasnโt her? After making sure she was safe, I stayed for an hour or so before taking my car home.
The front door was open when I got there. A sinking sensation took hold of me. My house had been broken into, and many of my belongings were missing. There was an intruder.
I still get chills when I think about it. Was it merely an odd coincidence? Or had someone stolen my motherโs phone and used it to trick me? I sold the house and moved out a few weeks later because I was so shaken.
Story 14: Every few weeks, I would see a woman dressed in white stroll down the hallway of the home where I was raised. I never mentioned it to anyone, but I always had an explanation for what it might be. My brother asked me if I had seen her years after we had both moved out.
I still get chills from it, and I can still recall every detail. ยฉ Reddit/Daronlif
