What started as a typical day turned into a tragic nightmare when a powerful
crash struck the very place where this young boy earned his living.

On June 12, 2025, 15-year-old Akash Patni, who worked part-time in a cafeteria,
tragically lost his life when an Air India plane crashed into the building that served
as both his home and workplace. The devastating incident has sent shockwaves

In the immediate aftermath, Akashโ€™s mother, Sita Ben, who also worked at the
cafeteria, rushed into the wreckage in a desperate attempt to save him. In doing so,
she sustained severe burns and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby
medical center.

Later, Akashโ€™s older brother, Kalpesh Patni, was seen at the hospital, visibly crushed
with grief as he stared at a photo of their mother and brother. Their father had
been in the vicinity when the explosion occurred.

By the time he arrived, the building was consumed by smoke, and emergency
responders had already whisked his wife away for medical care. It wasnโ€™t until he
reached the hospital himself that he was informed of his sonโ€™s death in the crash.

Akashโ€™s body is expected to be released to the family later today. Several other
families are also awaiting the remains of their loved ones, although most of the
victims are difficult to identify, as reported by the BBC.

As the investigation into this tragic incident continues, our thoughts remain with
the families enduring the unimaginable loss of their loved ones.

Currently, Akash is one of the confirmed victims. As previously reported, a family of
five from Rajasthan, who were aboard Air India flight 171, also perished when the
plane crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad airport.

Among the passengers of the ill-fated flight were Dr. Komi Vyas, a physician from
Udaipur, her husband Dr. Prateek Joshi, and their three children-eight-year-old
Miraya and five-year-old twins, Nakul and Pradyut.

The family had been preparing to start a new chapter in London, where Dr. Joshi
had already settled. A heartbreaking selfie, taken just moments before take-off,
shows the family smiling, unaware of the tragedy that awaited them.

According to NDTV and a spokesperson from Pacific Hospital, Dr. Vyas had recently
resigned from her position at the Udaipur hospital to join her husband abroad. Dr.
Joshi, who had lived in London for six years, returned to Rajasthan to accompany
his family on their final journey.

Dr. Joshiโ€™s cousin, Nayan, revealed that the family had left for Ahmedabad a day
earlier, with several relatives accompanying them to the airport. Dr. Vyasโ€™ brother,
Prabuddha, shared that the couple had been married for ten years.

Both families have professional backgrounds-Dr. Joshiโ€™s father is a well-known
radiologist, while Dr. Vyasโ€™ father served in the Public Works Department.

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was carrying 230 passengers, 10 crew members, and
two pilots. As of Thursday evening, only one survivor has been reported-Vishwash
Kumar Ramesh, a 40-year-old British-Indian.

Preliminary expert analysis suggests the aircraft may have suffered a loss of engine
power or failed to generate sufficient lift.

โ€œThe take-off was perfect, and just short of lifting the gear, the aircraft started
descending โ€ฆ obviously, the investigation will reveal the exact cause,โ€ explained
Captain Saurabh Bhatnagar, a former senior pilot, to NDTV.

The Skin Doctor, writing on X, noted that the familyโ€™s move had been in the making
for years. Their belongings were packed, and the family boarded the plane filled
with hope. The final selfie they took was sent to relatives before take-off โ€“ a
snapshot of joy and anticipation before disaster struck.

The tragic incident has resonated widely online, with emotional reactions pouring
in. One person wrote, โ€œThis tragedy is a call to live with intention, gratitude, and
urgency. Because in the end, all we truly have is this moment. May Pratik, Komi,
and their children rest in peace. And may their story remind us to live while we
can.โ€

Another shared, โ€œIโ€™m crying โ€ฆ Iโ€™m sitting on the other side of the world โ€ฆ Iโ€™m crying โ€ฆ
How unfair can life be โ€ฆ I just had the privilege to put my kids to bed. Trust me .. the
goodnights were different tonight .. no money can buy the appreciation I have right
now.โ€
