A 15-year-old girl has died and five others have been injured after an SUV flipped and rolled in Western Australia.
According to Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Caitlyn Bragger was a passenger in a four-wheel drive when it flipped off the road near the small town of Hoffman on Saturday, June 7.
A 16-year-old boy who was driving the car and a 17-year-old male passenger were also seriously injured, reported News.com.au.
Three passengers were treated for minor injuries and all but one has now been discharged from the hospital, added News.com.au.
According to the ABC, volunteer firefighters had to extricate one of the passengers from the crashed vehicle. It’s believed that the group had been camping at Logue Brook Dam, around 85 miles south of Perth, ahead of the crash.
“’Life will never be the same,” Bragger’s mother Sarah Highwood told the ABC. “She was my whole world and my heart has been torn into pieces.”
“I love you, miss you and want to kiss you,” she added.
A GoFundMe page that has so far raised $11,555 AUD ($15,600) out of an $18,000 AUD ($24,000) goal, described the teen as “Our Angel In Heaven.”
“She was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, aunty and friend,” the description read. “She bought a ray of sunshine everywhere she went, so outgoing and never left a dull moment in life. Known for her kindness, unique sense of humour, and devotion to her family and friends.”
The description by Mekayla Cowcher continued, “As we grieve her loss, her family are reaching out for support to help cover her funeral and memorial expenses, and to help ease the financial burden on her heartbroken family, who are unable to return to work as they try to cope with the overwhelming grief of losing their precious Caitlyn so suddenly and tragically.”
“Every donation, no matter the amount will go directly towards giving our girl Caitlyn the dignified farewell she deserves, and supporting her family while we try to recover the best we can,” Crowcher added. “We never expected to say goodbye to her beautiful soul so soon.”
