The irony of Donald Trump sliding up the stairs to Air Force One after he had previously made fun of Joe Biden for doing the same thing has been brought up by others.
Along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump boarded his presidential plane yesterday (June 8) on their trip to Camp David in Maryland. Trump will celebrate his 79th birthday in a few days.
Trump stumbled and fell on his way up the steps, but he immediately caught himself. He pretended nothing had happened and didn’t look back.
In a hilarious turn of events, Rubio also stumbled on the steps.

Trump attempted to brush the incident aside, but online users weren’t having any of it and pointed out that the president had criticised Biden for doing the same thing.
Speaking in 2023, the now-president said, “Joe Biden can’t even walk up a flight of stairs on Air Force One and he can’t put two sentences together. […] We have somebody that doesn’t have a clue representing us.”
Two years later, Trump is the target of the same kind of mockery.
“I’m surprised he hasn’t replaced those stairs with a portable escalator of some kind,” one person quipped on Twitter, as another penned, “When do they get the wheelchair for him? Someone ask Jake Tapper to find out.”
“Time to get Old Man Trump fitted for a wheelchair,” a third person said.
Taking to Reddit, a different person penned: “He must ‘step’ down immediately…That was the bar for stepping down for Biden, right?”

However, some defended Trump and maintained that the small gaffe wasn’t significant.
“I stumbled walking the stairs to a concert last night. Sh*t happens,” someone said.
“That’s a steep climb for anyone,” argued somebody else. “He recovered nicely. I give him an 8.5 for the recovery.”
Another Twitter user echoed similar feelings when they remarked that Trump handled the tumble “like a champ.”
The president arguably has more important issues to deal with than a small slip-up during the riots in Los Angeles and his highly visible feud with Elon Musk.
The world has been watching Trump’s dispute unfold on social media as the two continue to disparage one another.
