San Pedro de Macorís – On Friday morning, a 17-year- old was found lifeless in the yard of his home, located on “T” Street in the Restauración neighborhood of this city. The victim was identified as Antoni David García , who had respiratory distress due to neck constriction .

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred inside the residence, and the circumstances surrounding it are currently unknown . Neighbors and relatives expressed their shock and sadness, as they were unaware that the teenager had faced any situations that might have foreshadowed this outcome.

A unit from the National Emergency and Security System 9-1-1 responded quickly to the scene after receiving the alert. However, upon arrival, they confirmed that the young man showed no signs of life, making resuscitation efforts impossible.

Subsequently, personnel from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) , accompanied by members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM) , removed the body. It was then taken for an autopsy, which will determine the exact cause of death.

The case is under investigation by authorities, while family members and residents of the area await official results. The tragic loss of Antoni David García has generated profound consternation in the community, highlighting the importance of promoting psychological support and guidance for young people facing difficult emotional situations.
