John Cena leaves people divided as he reveals true reason why he doesn’t plan on having kids

John Cena is 48 years old. The Wrestling legend has been married twice, but he’s never had children. Now, he reveals the true reason he doesn’t plan to have any either.

John Cena went from the WWE to become an actor on-screen. He’s been known for his genuine appreciation of his fans, but while he is a huge star, scandals have been far from him.

Cena has been married twice: first to Elizabeth Huberdeau from 2009 to 2012, and in 2020, he married for a second time. The 48-year-old married Shay Shariatzadeh in 2020, and they are still happily married.

For many, having children is a part of life, but in John Cena’s case, it’s different.

Many years ago, he decided he didn’t want kids, and to this day, he stands by that decision. Last year, John Cena appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay show, stating, “I don’t want them.”

“I have a certain curiosity about life, and I also know the investment that it takes,” Cena said, explaining that he’s worried that his personality type reveals he’s not ready to have kids.

“And my biggest fear is, as someone who’s driven, many times stubborn, and selfish – I try to approach the world with kindness and curiosity, but I don’t think I’m personally ready, nor will I ever be, to invest the time it needs to be a great parent because I want to live life for all it is,” Cena said. “And I still have a lot to do. And I still want to do a lot. I have a wonderful partner I do it with. We’ve had open conversations about this. We share the same values.”

Meanwhile, John Cena stated that he feels people are judging those who decide not to have kids, putting them into a “category.”

“I’d like to believe that I operate under the construct that everyone’s okay living their life,” he added. “My opinions only hit that gray area during emotionally difficult times. And I’m very happy with where I stand. I have a lot of joy and fulfillment in my life. And that’s pretty much where I stand on it.”

In September this year, Cena was once again asked about not having children. He said he had been working straight for 43 days, speaking about his film Little Brother, and that he had 20 more to go.

“Irresponsible choice”
“So if I were to bring a life into this world that needs environmental nurture and unconditional love, I also know that takes time, and I’ve been blessed with some great opportunities and life has awarded me the chance to do some amazing things. And right now I wanna seize those opportunities,” he explained.

“So I don’t want to make an irresponsible choice and bring a life into the world that I won’t neglect – I don’t think that’s fair.”
