Anyone know the saying ‘birds of a feather flock together’? Well, I think perhaps it’s not very applicable in this case. Or any case for that matter.

I think it’s safe to say that who we choose to befriend does not always boil down to who looks like us.

Throughout history we have seen that friendships can be formed by the most unexpected people… and animals.

Just ask Bonedigger and Abby. This charming duo are not only best friends — but one happens to be a lion, and the other… a tiny wiener dog.

Oklahoma is home to a wildlife park which shelters animals who have been left without a place to stay, after a zoo is shut down for example.

At the park, you can find all kinds of wild animals such as parrots to monkeys or tigers… and then there’s the little wiener dog Abby.

You might think the tiny dog would be afraid of all these grand, big and exotic animals.

Think again.

Not only is she not afraid, she even has her favorite animal to play with — a lion named ‘Bonedigger’.

And believe it or not — but the feeling is mutual. Seems Bonedigger loves to hang out with Abby as well.

In a clip that has been watched over 3 million times on YouTube, we are able follow their friendship, and it’s just too darn cute.

More than anything, I would have liked to see Bonedigger run free in the wild, but at least I am happy to see he has found an unusual friend to play with in the wildlife park.
