Jeffrey Epstein made bombshell claim about Donald Trump in email sent before his death in prison

Jeffrey Epstein’s Connection to Donald Trump Resurfaces Through 2019 Email

Jeffrey Epstein’s connection to former President Donald Trump has once again come under scrutiny following the public release of an email Epstein sent in 2019, just months before his death. The email sheds light on Epstein’s perspective of his relationship with Trump, particularly regarding allegations about Epstein’s behavior at Mar-a-Lago and Trump’s knowledge of the situation.

In the email, Epstein confirms that Trump was not only aware of some of the abuse occurring at his Mar-a-Lago resort but had actively intervened to stop Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s close associate and co-conspirator, from recruiting girls through the Mar-a-Lago spa. This correspondence, made public by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, provides previously undisclosed details about the extent of Trump’s awareness of Epstein’s actions, adding fuel to ongoing debates about the former president’s potential complicity or knowledge.

Epstein’s email, addressed to author Michael Wolff and dated January 31, 2019, specifically states that Trump had asked Maxwell to cease recruiting girls from the resort. In the note, Epstein wrote, “Of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.” This explicit acknowledgment seems to contradict Trump’s long-standing claims of limited or no involvement and raises renewed calls from legal experts and lawmakers for the Justice Department to release all records and files pertaining to Epstein’s case.

Trump’s Version of Events and Public Statements

Throughout the scrutiny, Trump has consistently denied allegations linking him to Epstein’s criminal activities. In a July 2025 press conference, Trump described Epstein as someone who had “stolen people that worked for me.” He added, “Everyone knows the people that were taken, and it was the concept of taking people that work for me is bad.”

Trump further explained that upon learning of Epstein’s misconduct, he told him, “Listen, we don’t want you taking our people,” which, according to Trump, demonstrated his disapproval of Epstein’s recruitment of young women at Mar-a-Lago. However, Epstein’s email challenges this narrative, suggesting that Trump may have been more directly aware of the recruitment of girls than he publicly admitted. The revelations are likely to intensify ongoing debates regarding the former president’s actual knowledge of the trafficking operation.

By highlighting that Trump allegedly requested Maxwell to stop recruiting girls, Epstein’s correspondence paints a picture that differs sharply from Trump’s public remarks. While Trump has portrayed himself as largely uninvolved or ignorant of the details, these emails suggest a more nuanced, perhaps less innocent, level of awareness. As such, the new documents may further complicate the discourse around Trump’s connections to Epstein and the broader network of individuals implicated in these crimes.

Epstein’s Relationship with Trump and Maxwell’s Role

Epstein and Trump reportedly shared a social and business relationship that dates back to the 1990s and early 2000s. They were said to be friends and attended events together, though their bond reportedly cooled in the mid-2000s following a dispute over a property deal in Palm Beach, Florida. Despite the deterioration of their personal relationship, Epstein maintained communication with Maxwell, often discussing Trump.

For example, an email exchange from 2011 shows Epstein referring to Trump as “that dog that hasn’t barked,” indicating his frustration with Trump’s lack of public acknowledgment or response to the abuse occurring under Epstein’s supervision. In the same email chain, Maxwell replied with a cryptic comment: “I have been thinking about that…” These interactions provide insight into the internal dynamics of Epstein’s network and the role Trump may have played, intentionally or not, in the broader situation.

Maxwell herself was convicted in 2021 for her involvement in Epstein’s criminal enterprise and is currently serving a lengthy prison sentence. The ongoing release of emails and documents continues to illuminate the complicated web of relationships among Epstein, Maxwell, Trump, and other powerful figures. Each new disclosure seems to raise more questions about who knew what and when, keeping public attention sharply focused on the case.

Continuing Scrutiny and Public Accountability

As more documents and communications related to Epstein’s operations become available, legal experts and investigators expect further revelations about the reach of his network and the involvement of high-profile individuals. The 2019 email highlighting Trump’s knowledge of the recruitment of girls at Mar-a-Lago is only the latest piece in a growing puzzle. Calls for transparency and accountability continue to grow louder, with lawmakers and advocacy groups pushing for the release of all information related to Epstein’s activities, including correspondence with influential figures in politics and business.

The renewed focus on Epstein’s connections underscores the enduring public interest in how individuals with power and influence interacted with him and his network. As these revelations unfold, they will likely shape ongoing discussions about responsibility, oversight, and the mechanisms by which such operations went unchecked for years.
