State of Mexico — A serious traffic accident caused major disruption this Wednesday, November 20, after a trailer lost control and triggered a multi-vehicle collision on the Mexico–Querétaro Highway, one of the busiest roadways connecting central Mexico.

The incident occurred at kilometer 059+000 near the municipality of Huehuetoca, where a trailer traveling toward Mexico City was unable to stop in time as it approached the Jorobas intersection. According to preliminary reports, the driver attempted to brake but lost control, first crashing into a roadside embankment before colliding with several vehicles traveling ahead.

Authorities confirmed that the trailer struck at least five passenger cars and one pickup truck. The force of the impact caused the trailer to jackknife and end up positioned sideways across the highway, blocking all three north-to-south lanes. The collision resulted in a partial closure of the road and severe traffic congestion that extended for several kilometers.

Drivers in the area reported long delays as emergency crews worked to secure the scene and redirect traffic. Some motorists were stranded for hours while authorities assessed the situation and began clearing damaged vehicles from the roadway. Emergency response teams, including paramedics and traffic police, arrived quickly at the scene. Several individuals involved in the collision were treated on-site for minor injuries such as bruises, cuts, and shock.
