The United States paused in reflection as leaders, military personnel, and grieving families gathered at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to honor six Army Reserve soldiers who lost their lives while serving overseas. President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and Vice President JD Vance attended the dignified transfer ceremony on March 7.

The solemn event brought together senior military officials and government leaders to pay their respects as the remains of the fallen service members were returned home. The ceremony served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces and the impact their service has on families and communities across the nation.

Among the officials present were Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine, Attorney General Pam Bondi, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Governors and senators from the soldiers’ home states also attended to support the families.

The six soldiers were identified as Major Jeffrey O’Brien, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert Marzan, Captain Cody Khork, Sergeant First Class Nicole Amor, Sergeant First Class Noah Tietjens, and Sergeant Declan Coady. All served in the 103rd Sustainment Command, an Army Reserve unit that supports military operations and logistics.

During the ceremony, flag-draped transfer cases carrying the soldiers’ remains were respectfully moved from a military aircraft while attendees stood in silence. According to reports, the soldiers were deployed to the Middle East when an attack occurred at a temporary operations site in Kuwait. Each leaves behind family, friends, and communities who remember their dedication, courage, and service to the nation.
