Trump Shares Parenting Advice He Gave Barron — And It’s Surprisingly Practical

By revealing his four golden rules of parenting, President Donald Trump has provided a unique glimpse into his parenting style.

The most powerful man in the world is a father of five; he had his first child 47 years ago, and it appears that his parenting style hasn’t altered, as his youngest child, Barron, would undoubtedly attest.

Let’s make a list of every Republican’s child before we continue. Donald Jr., his oldest child, is followed by Ivanka, 43, and Eric, 41. All three were raised by the 78-year-old’s first wife, the late Ivana.

Then there’s Tiffany, 31, who gave birth to the POTUS’ eleventh grandchild last month. Her mother is Marla Maples, who wed Trump in the 1990s and later got divorced.

Last but not least is Barron, a 19-year-old son of Trump who shares a height of 6’7″ with First Lady Melania.

In an interview with the new political podcast Pod Force One, the president has now shared his tips for being a good father.

When asked to share his “formula for parenting,” he revealed his four golden commandments while sitting down with show host and New York Post columnist Miranda Devine.

He replied, “Well, I always said the same thing – I said no drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes. I also would say don’t get tattoos, but I don’t say it too strongly because a lot of people have gotten tattoos and that’s what they chose to do, but I would say if you can avoid it, avoid it.”

“But I’d say no drugs, no cigarettes and no alcohol, and like Ivanka would say ‘Dad give me a break how many times you have to tell me?’, I said, ‘I’m going to keep saying it’ – I would say it for their whole life – I said it all the time, I still say it.”

Trump does think his kids should spend their lives just like him.

The reason for this is that his late brother, Fred Trump Jr., battled alcoholism. The president recalled telling Fred, who was eight years older than him, to “never drink, never ever smoke.”

Alcohol played a part in Fred’s death in 1981, when he suffered a heart attack at the age of 42.

Reflecting on his brother, he said, “He had a unbelievable personality but the booze got to him – and he’d always say don’t drink, don’t smoke.”

“Now, in those days there were no drugs, you know? I guess there were but you didn’t know about it, but he would have added drugs in there but he said don’t ever smoke and don’t ever drink.”

The question of whether his kids adhere to their father’s rules is another. Barron isn’t known to drink because he’s under 21, but Tiffany, Donald Jr., and Eric have all had their share of alcohol.

Eric, however, has admitted that he doesn’t drink much, Tiffany’s party days are over after giving birth to her first kid last month, and Donald Jr. declared about three years ago that he had stopped drinking.

It’s unclear if Ivanka Trump has ever had a glass of wine or beer, but one thing is certain: none of them are big drinkers.
