A woman with what’s believed to be the world’s largest tubercle has had the FIVE gravestone tumour removed in a successful attempt to save her life.

Details of the operation have just been made public after the case made a full recovery and has returned to her everyday life.

The woman, from Mexico – who did n’t want to be named – was at first mystified as why her tummy continued to grow as she was overeating and soon put on 61bs( 4.3 st).

The pressure from the tubercle meant she developed problems walking, breathing and eating due to the contraction on her organs.

Erik Hanson Viana, 27, at the Mexico General Hospital, performed introducing surgery to remove the tubercle – believed to be the biggest one ever removed whole – last time.

Now, further than six months on, details of the operation can be revealed as the case has recaptured mobility and returned to a normal life.

Hanson, from Mexico City, said “ This is the biggest tubercle I’ve operated on, it was so large that it took up 95 of the case’s tummy.

“ It’s really rare to operate on a tubercle this big, it measured half a metre in periphery and the circumference was 157 cm.

“ From all the exploration I’ve set up, It’s believed that this is the largest ovarian tubercle ever to be removed whole, without draining it first or discovering it.

“ The largest in history counted 320 lb back in 1902, and took several days to drain, I ca n’t indeed imagine one that large. ”

He added ” The case was relatively fat, so after starting on a diet, she noticed her face, arms and legs were getting thinner but her stomach was getting bigger.

“ When I met her, she could just about walk a couple of way before getting agitated and feeling like she was floundering to breathe because the tubercle was crushing her lungs.

“ Some experts say a giant tubercle is anything bigger than 10 cm, others that it has to weigh over 26 lb( 12 kg) or that it has to be advanced than the umbilical of the case – this tubercle was much bigger than all of them.

“ She was standing fully straight. She now walks like a normal person without demanding a walking stick or other mobility aids and her tummy is now flat. ”

The case was appertained to Mexico General Hospital as a last resort due to the concerning size of the ovarian tubercle and complicated surgery demanded to remove it.

By this point the giant tubercle counted over 5st 3( 73 lbs) and was growing at a rate of nearly 6 lbs each month.

Hanson said “ Since the tubercle had come so large, it had started to compress her bowel and was precluding her from eating.
