Columbo star Peter Falk’s daughter has died

Jacqueline Falk, the adopted daughter of Peter Falk, has died at the age of 60.

According to officials from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, she was found dead earlier this week at a residence in Los Angeles. Authorities have ruled her death a suicide. It remains unclear whether she left a note, and the case is still considered open as formal procedures continue.

Jacqueline was one of two daughters adopted by Peter Falk and his first wife, Alyce Mayo, during their marriage, which lasted from 1960 to 1976.

Both of her parents had already passed away. Peter Falk, widely recognized for his portrayal of Lieutenant Columbo in the classic television series Columbo, died in 2011 at the age of 83 following a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Alyce Mayo passed away in 2016 at the age of 85.

Jacqueline Falk’s passing brings a somber close to a family long connected to one of television’s most enduring figures. While much of the public knew Peter Falk through his work on screen, his family life remained largely private, making this loss all the more poignant for those reflecting on his legacy beyond his career.

If you or someone you know is struggling, reaching out to local support services or trusted individuals can make a meaningful difference.
