A video of an elderly woman, covered in blood and sobbing in agony, after she was allegedly attacked by her own son went viral, shocking thousands of social media users.
To protect the victim’s privacy, the name of the residential neighborhood where the incident took place has been withheld. Initial reports from the local media indicate that the dispute started for ostensibly insignificant reasons. But when the young man, who was about 20 years old, lost his temper and assaulted his mother, things became violent.
After hearing the woman’s cries and screams, neighbors called the police. When police arrived, they discovered the woman on the ground, covered in blood, and showing signs of facial and arm trauma. The young man was charged with aggravated domestic violence after being taken into custody at the scene.
The victim has severe physical and psychological injuries but is in stable condition after being transported to a nearby hospital. “The patient suffered multiple bruises and is under psychological observation due to the trauma she experienced,” a hospital doctor told reporters.
