Mom wants to show

One of the most powerful truths about humanity is that we are all uniquely made—and that uniqueness is something worth celebrating. Nicole Lucas Hallson, a devoted mother and teacher, is championing that message through her daughter, Winry, who was born in 2021 with a rare skin condition called congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN), a large birthmark covering part of her face.

After a normal pregnancy, Nicole was shocked but determined to understand and embrace Winry’s condition. “At first, I thought it was a bruise,” Nicole recalled, “but it looked like a mole I had never seen before.” Despite her initial concern, she focused on loving her daughter and educating others.

Nicole now uses her platform to raise awareness about CMN, promote self-love, and inspire conversations about embracing visible differences. She also prioritizes Winry’s health, ensuring regular dermatologist visits and sun protection. While she worries about the social challenges ahead, Nicole hopes her daughter will grow up confident and proud.

Winry, full of personality and joy, is already making an impact—reminding the world that every difference is beautiful and worth celebrating.
