Mother of murdered schoolgirl April Jones has refused to read the book she and her husband have written about their daughter’s murder

The mother of murdered April Jones has refused to read the book which she and her husband have published about their ordeal.

Five-year-old April was snatched from outside her home in Machynlleth more than two years ago by Mark Bridger, who was sentenced to a whole life term for her abduction and murder.

Coral and Paul Jones’s book April, which details the moment they realised their daughter had been taken, the search, and the trial of her killer, was published last week.

Coral has ‘refused’ to read the book
But Mrs Jones has told how she could not bring herself to read the book which documents those painful moments.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning, Mrs Jones said she had “refused” to read the the book, which was drawn from a diary her husband Paul kept throughout their ordeal.

Mr Jones, who said he had listened to the book on CDs, said: “For me it was just getting everything out of my mind so I could sleep.

“I’ve had help writing it because I could write a book five times that size. I’ve read every single page of it.

“We wanted to raise questions. It’s too easy for people to download pictures, or anything they want.”

Coral and Paul Jones watch as Mark Bridger’s house is demolished:

‘If you are asking for help you deserve a chance’
He added: “If you are not already a paedophile and you are thinking about kids along that line but you haven’t actually committed a crime – if you are asking for help then you deserve a chance.”

Mrs Jones, who said she visits April’s grave every week to “put fresh flowers down and talk to her”, also told how watching her daughter’s killer sentenced to life in prison was an important moment.

She said: “I had to know what was going on. I wanted to make sure he knew I was there and he wasn’t getting away with anything.
