But their parents’ experiences are frequently disregarded. Thankfully, Justin Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, has written a memoir describing her childhood.

She has persevered in the face of cruelty and heartache, and her kid has been there for her at every turn.

Pop sensation Justin Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, has faced several challenges throughout her life. Born in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, on April 2, 1975, she was raised by her mother, Diane, as a single parent after her father left when she was two years old.

Even though her mother was a loving parent, Pattie had a lot of challenges growing up. She suffered sexual abuse when she was just three years old, a devastating event that would impact her for the rest of her life.

She turned to drugs in an effort to dull her anguish because the abuse left her feeling guilty and ashamed. Because of the trauma she had gone through, she had trouble judging herself.

During an appearance on the TODAY show, she revealed, “I’ve come to understand that it’s normal and natural for anyone who has experienced sexual abuse to carry that shame and blame and to feel that there is something fundamentally wrong with them.”

Everything went wrong.

Pattie Mallette was rebellious as a teenager. Under the influence of a notoriously nasty crowd, she began smoking cannabis and drinking alcohol. They also have a history of shoplifting.

She was raped while out drinking when she was fifteen years old. She lost her virginity in this way. She reached her lowest point at this point and attempted suicide. She spent 19 days in a mental health facility. She names the pastor she met while in the mental health facility her “spiritual dad,” and he was the catalyst for a transformation in her life.

Justin’s father, Jeremy Bieber, was then introduced to Pattie Mallette. The majority of their relationship was not particularly healthy, and they dated intermittently for four years before she eventually broke up with him. At the age of 17, she became pregnant with Jeremy’s child. She was urged to have an abortion by several, but she declined.

“I simply thought, ‘Whoa, now I’m responsible for another life, and I really need to get my stuff together,’ when I found out I was pregnant. At 37, she remarked, “I feel like I didn’t deserve to have the most amazing child that I have because of my past.” “But thanks to God’s incredible grace and mercy, we are where we are today almost in spite of me.”

Christianity and Pattie Mallette

As was already established, Pattie Mallette’s relationship with a pastor during her stay in the mental health unit provided her with comfort in her faith. She has been open about the fact that her journey to Christianity was not simple nor easy, though.

Her trip was turbulent and full of highs and lows. She admitted, “It’s definitely a lifelong process.” “My spiritual path is untidy, unvarnished, and authentic. I had that experience. I don’t preach or prescribe how others should practice their faith when I express it. I’m only talking about my own experience and what got me through it.

Pattie Mallette has complete faith in her son, Justin Bieber. Few mothers fully comprehend the two’s intensely intimate friendship, which many would envy. For as long as she could, Pattie sought to keep Justin away from her difficult background.

But as he became older, she realized that she had to be the one to tell him the truth. She recalled, “I didn’t tell him my story until he was about twelve years old.” When he first heard it, he started crying.
