Nancy Pelosi was a stuttering mess as she tried to attack President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill,” tripping over her words as she tried to argue against a piece of legislation that will provide huge tax relief for seniors, which led conservatives to savagely roast the aging leftist politico online.

For context, in a speech given at an anti-Trump rally on May 21, 2025, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi slammed President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill,” calling it a “reverse Robin Hood” scheme while tripping over her words throughout her painfully long seven-minute speech. After a snippet from Pelosi’s screed was posted on X, conservatives poked fun at the 85-year-old Democrat, jokingly speculating that she must have been drunk while delivering her speech.

In her speech, Pelosi said that the “Big, Beautiful Bill” was “A Republican reverse Robin Hood,” adding, “They are taking from people who should have it, who — need to help — and giving to the richest people in America—just a — just as they did in 2017.” She continued, “The last time they had the White House and the majority in Congress, they, um, they put a tax bill that gave 83% of the benefits to the top 1%. To the top 1%! It’s sinful. It’s immoral. It’s wrong.”

Next, Pelosi’s statements became even more incoherent as she tried to make a case against the Trump Administration, saying, “But let me say this, because I think it’s important to know. We’re saying they’re cutting Medicaid and SNAP and all that to pay for their tax cut. No. They’re taking their tax cut no matter what. They don’t care if it’s paid for or not. What they’re trying to do is undo governance for the people—undo Medicare, undo Medicaid, undo Social Security.”

Then, the former House speaker described the “Big, Beautiful Bill” as “a bigger plot than their usual tax [unintelligible],” adding, “Last time, they claimed to be so fiscally sound, they brought, uh, ‘We can’t feed the children because it’s going to add to the national debt, but we can give tax breaks to the richest people in America.’”

Attempting to continue, Pelosi stumbled over her words even more, saying that a previous bill added “$2 trillion in 19 —uh, excuse me — in 2017 —it added $2 trillion to the national debt! This time, chicken feed! They’re (sic) wanna add $4.5 trillion to the national debt!” As boos erupted from the crowd, Pelosi continued, “Now, at the same time, talk about cutting a trillion dollars —over $700 billion from Medicaid and $300 billion from SNAP. Just that: a trillion dollars.”

Adding to the bizarre nature of her rant, Pelosi went on to declare that with the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” President Trump was taking “food out of the mouths of babies” and putting “money in the pocket (sic) of billionaires.” She continued, “But we have to be hopeful, because in ’17, when they did what they did, in ’18, with the help of so many of you, we held 10,000 events around the country to save the Affordable Care Act.”
When the conservative influencer Merica shared a snippet from Pelosi’s rant on X, she immediately made Pelosi the butt of the joke, saying, “Either she just had a stroke, or she is drunk off her a–! As long as these people keep representing the Dems, MAGA keeps winning!” In response, a commenter chimed in, “I’m casting my vote as ‘Drunk!’”
