Wolf attack in India (2025)
In the Bahraich district, located in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, a series of wolf attacks sowed panic among the inhabitants in 2025.
One of the most tragic incidents occurred on the night of December 13, 2025. A little girl, about a year old, was sleeping next to her mother on the veranda of their house. Around 3:30 a.m., a wolf silently entered the house and suddenly snatched the child.
Despite the mother’s cries and the quick intervention of the villagers, the animal managed to escape. After several hours of searching, the child’s body was found lifeless near the village.
Following this tragic event, forestry authorities launched an operation to find the animal. The wolf was eventually located and shot to prevent further attacks.
This incident is not an isolated case. For several months, the Bahraich region has been facing a series of similar attacks. Several children have been killed or seriously injured, plunging neighboring villages into constant fear.
Authorities have deployed drones, surveillance cameras and specialist teams to monitor wolf movements and protect the population.
Conclusion
These attacks remain rare globally, but they can become frequent in some areas where the animals’ natural habitats are disturbed, pushing them to approach inhabited areas.
